Our canoeing and kayaking members range from total beginners to individuals who compete
at national and international level. From 8 to 80 plus.

The club offers expertise and events based around the following disciplines...

  • White-Water River-Running

  • Canoe Polo

  • Free-Style Play Boating

  • Sea Kayaking

  • Canadian Canoeing

LOCATION & FACILITIES: The club is located at Canal Walk, Dukes Meadows in Kilkenny City and can offer its members equipment hire, boat storage, training, and changing facilities.

As well as beginners’ courses, the club also runs regular training sessions, pool practice
sessions, river trips, and the opportunity to compete in national and international events.

All canoe/kayak events are planned and risk assessed in line with KACC club policies. These policies are regularly reviewed, keeping in-step with Canoeing Ireland's safety guidelines and best practice. Our club prides itself on the inclusion of young people. Implementing child protection policies and procedures are mandatory for any event involving U18's.

Members get basic insurance cover as part of their membership (through Canoeing Ireland).

As a club we are also committed to protecting our environment. We offer boat and equipment rinsing facilities and regularly come together to complete river clean ups. The committee is working on numerous projects to ensure that club facilities are as sustainable as possible.

SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT
